The South Korean Mission has donated sports equipment and COVID-19 testing kits to the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), it was revealed today.
The donations were received directly from South Korean representatives at the FA’s training grounds in Juba. The SSFA reports the equipment will be distributed to the national team as well as the U20 side.
The head of the South Korean mission in South Sudan, Kim Choon, described the equipment as a show of solidarity from the people of South Korea to South Sudan. The donations will help the South Sudanese team compete internationally against Uganda and Tanzania in coming weeks.
The President of the South Sudan Football Association, Francis Amin Michael, thanked the South Korean Mission for their continued support for the national team.
South Sudan are due to play Uganda in the African Cup of Nations qualifier next week, for a chance to compete in Cameroon in 2022.
The South Sudan U20 team will play in the CECAFA cup on the 27th of November 2020 in Tanzania.
Amin urged all the players to maximise their efforts for victories in the upcoming games.
