Two die and two injured in Mundri road accidents

Two people have died and a further two have been injured amidst a recent spike in road accidents across Mundri West County, Western Equatoria State.


Acting Traffic Police Director John Taban confirmed to media that two people died in separate road accidents on Tuesday evening.


'We have just finished handing over the two bodies of separate road accidents to the families of the victims', he said.


A 29-year-old man, identified as Laveric Diku, reportedly fell off a truck loading timbers in Kotobi payam, Mundri West County.


The second death occurred on motorcycle carrying 2 passengers from Mundri town to their respective homes. They collided with a Scania truck, number plate SSD 518 Q, killing motorbike driver Mazinga Malish instantly. The passengers survived with broken legs, and were immediately taken to Lui Hospital for further medical attention.

This is not the first accident of its kind in Mundri town. A similar incident last year that left one person dead.
