On December 08/2023, South Sudan United Front/ Army - Nairobi Declaration (SSUF/A - ND) leadership under the
Chairman & Commander-In-Chief, Maj. General Dickson Gatluak Jock Nyuot would like to refute report from media houses that SSUF/A – ND has joined the SPLM in Juba.
To clear the air, all the delegates who came to Juba with the Chairman are yet intact and loyal to the cause and doing about their mandate in advancing the Home-Grown Peace Initiative in Juba. What happened this week on December 4, 2023, is that few disgruntle, and confused members have decided to succumb to defection trap propaganda casted by SPLM in Juba. We do acknowledge the like of Guol Jial Bikot who acts as acting Secretary-General and Col. Philip Deng Kuol our former Military Spokesperson are among those who have joined SPLMS in Juba as individuals.
However, since it is normal in a political environment, everyone has a right to freedom of choice and affiliation to join any political party to advance what they think is good for themselves and the country.
The SSUF/A - Nairobi Declaration leadership and the entire members do wish them good luck and better future in their political aspirations.
In line with the progress on the implementation of the peace agreement we reached with the government, South Sudan United Front/Army - Nairobi Declaration would to to put straight the following points:
1. Over one hundred fifty days (150) since we arrived in Juba on Monday, 12th June 2023,
there has been a lack of progress towards the implementation of the “homegrown peace initiative" as agreed with the government in Nairobi.
2. Since our arrival here in Juba, no official or face to face meeting that has been scheduled with SSUF/A - ND
leadership till to date in contrast to the agreement.
3. SSUF/A - ND is firm, strong, and united than before under Chairman & C-In-C, Gen.
Dickson Gatluak, and still determined in pursuing for peaceful resolution to the conflict in South Sudan
through non-violence process or dialogue.
4. SSUF/A=ND urges the government to schedule talks with our chairman Maj. Gen Dickson Gatluak and his delegation to honour the agreement and to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country.
