In an attempt to grow peace and stability in Central Equatoria, Gov Emmanuel Adil Anthony has encouraged the voluntary return of a number of refugees from Kajo-keji county back to the state.
Speaking at a recent rally in Kajo-keji Freedom Square, Gov Anthony said the success of the revitalised peace agreement had produced the ideal conditions for the return of the area's numerous refugees. He hoped they would resettle in Kajo-keji and rebuild the county.
Responding to local outcry over the influx of alien cattle herders, Gov Anthony emphasised his previous gubernatorial order concerning the immediate return of grazers to their traditional pastures. He instructed the County Commissioner and local security personnel to enforce this order.
The Governor assured residents of his administration's dedication to delivering local services, particularly with the influx of returning refugees to the area. In this respect, he encouraged all members of the local government and county administrations to embrace the spirit of the peace agreement and approach the challenge with peace and stability in mind.
Anthony's words were echoed by James Janka Duku, incoming Member of Parliament for Kajo-keji county. Duku expressed similar sentiment encouraging refugees to return to their communities across the region.
