Malakal
The National Democratic Movement (NDM) have published a statement condemning the killing of a number of civilians in Malakal town, Upper Nile state, this weekend.
Signed by Party Political Affairs Committee Chairman Peter Lomude Francis, the statement suggests the Malakal death toll for the weekend has reached 12 people.
It is reported that the deaths came after gunmen fired on large crowds at Malakal airport, assembled to greet the incoming Upper Nile governor Obudhok Ayang Kur. When the crowd dispersed, the attackers allegedly hunted them down in smaller groups.
