A NAS rebel soldier released from prison in Yei county.

A detained National Salvation Front rebel was released on Wednesday in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State.

Commissioner Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa tells radio Easter that Betwel Laku Pataki, who is seventy-three years old, was the head of Lo-rega Boma in Mukaya Payam before being apprehended by SSPDF personnel in an operation.

Betwel was detained by the military intelligence unit in Yei, according to Cyrus. He was arrested in Limbe. The commissioner confirms the release of the rebel, emphasizing that it is a symbol of peace and a gesture that the struggle is detrimental and has no benefit to pursue.

Commissioner Aggrey appeals to the chiefs and those who are still fighting the government to be humble, seek help, and work with the government.
